Ms. Wang is the current Chairman & President of the MIT/Stanford Venture Lab, a high-tech entrepreneurial forum in Silicon Valley. She has an international background in sales and marketing for wireless, telecom, and Internet start-ups and she advises a number of companies in areas including mobile payments, mobile entertainment applications, networking hardware, and enterprise software. She last held the role of SVP of Marketing and Alliances for July Systems, a company providing mobile retailing and marketing solutions to carriers and media brands. Prior to July, she was CEO/Co-founder of AsiaQuest, a company providing market entry services for US companies entering Asian markets. Before that, she started up the International Carrier Marketing group and also led Product Marketing strategy for Ascend Communication’s (acquired by Lucent) VOIP products entry into Americas, Asia and European markets. As an Internet pioneer, she launched the TRUSTe privacy program, the top online consumer privacy brand in 1996 for CommerceNet. She also started up Pacific Internet, a leading Asian ISP based in Singapore (IPO on NASDAQ in 1999), along with holding sales and business development positions at Pacific Bell (acquired by SBC/AT&T). Ms. Wang holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University where she was President of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley where she was elected the Student Commencement Speaker.
